The best known of the two 5 star hotels is Hospes Palacio del Bailio, a former palace dating back to the 16th century, nestled in Córdoba city center. Plenty of the original structure remains, from many different eras. Some rooms feature century old frescoes or ancient stone arches behind antique doors. The main building's atrium looks down through a glass floor into the ruins of a Roman era villa, which gives an extra air of historical authenticity to the Roman baths in the underground spa of the hotel.
Hospes Palacio del Bailio is more a mansion than a hotel, with some rooms opening into ancillary patios, and others in the main building into the main courtyard, with its majestic old palms and outdoor swimming pool. Even if you do not stay at Hospes Palacio del Bailio, its is worth a visit just to have a look.
AC Córdoba Palacio is a completely refurbished hotel in the heart of the city. The hotel exhibits avantgarde interior design combined with the state of the art technology.
